How mahjong sessions foster business connections and cultural roots

A regularly occurring event in Julia’s calendar includes good conversation, great company and a some mahjong with the Joy Luck Club. The Globe & Mail asked Julia to write an article about the club she help found six years ago and why it’s so much more than just a game.

“The club provided us with an avenue for social interaction, business discussions and the metaphorical “seat at the table” that was not always available to women and people of colour. We decided to create our own table.”
